the beginning of part prep

Probably this seems weird, but the first step in succesfully putting together any plastic model car is to wash the parts.





The theory behind this is that when a machine molds the plastic parts, a worker sprays mold release agent into the mold. This mold release is basically oil. Paint and glue stick pretty well to plastic, but they don't stick well to oil. It should be enough to let the parts sit for about 10 minutes in mild soapy water.
